Chicago – Jan 12 2006

We’re starting off the new year with a brand new venue that we’re super excited about- People Spanish Tapas and World Music Lounge!

People just opened for business and is already creating alot of buzz in the artsy Wicker Park neighborhood. Owner Baris Yuksel (who also happens to be a EuroCircle member!) left the corporate world to realize his dream of opening a cool yet comfortable restaurant/lounge with a strong European vibe- and he has done a great job!

In addition to Spanish tapas, People features over 20 varieties of beer from all over the world, as well as a great selection of wine and home-made red and white wine Sangria.

But here’s the best part- EuroCircle Chicago is hosting a private dinner event at People- which means we have the whole place to ourselves to sample some great food (with a special discounted menu just for us)and including specials on beer and Sangria! People also has these awesome, long, communal tables that are perfect for meeting new friends- as well as sharing a pitcher of Sangria or two…

Since this will be a smaller event due to capacity limitations, it is absolutely required that guests RSVP at www.eurocircle.com if you would like to attend. Please only RSVP if you definitely plan on attending, and please let us know if you must cancel for any reason.

LIBRAS as a ZODIAC SIGN (Sept 23 to Oct 23):
Librans are first and foremost focused on others and how they relate to them. We can call this the Sign of partnership with a capital ‘P’ because these folks do not want to be alone! For a Libran, everything is better if it’s done as a pair. Librans are good when paired up, too, since they epitomize balance, harmony and a sense of fair play. While they are true team players at work, their favorite partnership is at home: marriage. Librans feel most complete when they are coupled up with their lover, forever.

It’s the Scales which symbolize Libra, and just like that balancing mechanism wants to stay even, Librans want to be on an even keel. Think of the Scales of Justice and how they work at striking the right balance. Likewise, Librans are objective, just and want to do what’s best for everyone. It’s possible, though, that this penchant for fairness is for a different reason: Librans abhor conflict. The Scales study every possible angle in the hopes of achieving peace and harmony, so much so that others may see them as fickle and indecisive. If that’s what it takes to avoid a confrontation, that’s fine with the Scales. The Libra-born are keen strategists, organizing groups with poise and getting the job done (in keeping with the Cardinal Quality assigned to this Sign). Further, you can expect the Scales to be companionable, sociable folks.
