Euro Circle, Swing Shift & Griffin Lounge present…

THE CURSE OF THE GRIFFIN
This Halloween we bring you into the realm of lore and mystery. We begin with the legend of a mystical creature known to be the king of beasts, guarder of treasures, and protector of souls! That mystical creature is the Griffin.

Powerful and majestic, this beast – part lion, part eagle – has long been known to haunt the very castles they are thought to protect. And on this, All Hallows Eve, the Griffin will be there ready to unleash it’s darkest side to us all!

Ok, so even though it’s been a while since we’ve been in school, we still think that September feels like the start of a new year!

So come meet some new boys and girls this month at a very sleek yet laid back bar/lounge in the heart of the hip and happening Wicker Park neighborhood- Edge!
We’re super excited to have the whole place to ourselves- and they’ve even got a nice little outdoor patio- September weather permitting!

Edge also has a great selection of food and imported beers (all under ten bucks)

And we’ll have our teachers’ pet DJ’s John C. and Greg B. on the decks 🙂

So don’t get stuck in detention- join us this month at Edge- you might even learn somthing new! 🙂

Hello everyone:

Sorry it took a while but I was waiting to hear back from a venue which did not come through for us, but no worries, we have an even better alternative. Our next event (Tuesday September 1st) will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel located in Midtown on 14th street. I have arranged for reduced valet parking ($8.00) instead of the going rate ($20) or you can park next door or across the street in public parking facilities.

We will also have our usual appetizers and management has agreed to provide us with a drink special as well as a special price on draft beer. Also, for those of you who wish to dine at the restaurant, they will have a $25 fixed price for a three course meal which is not a bad deal…

Parisian Night @ OPIA with Live Performances

Join us for cocktails at Opia, newly renovated and glamorous as ever!

At 7:30 PM we’ll present the premiere performance of the musical “Play the Music Softly” – it tells the story of a successful concert pianist, born and raised in Paris, through memory flashbacks during an interview given for Le Monde Magazine.

The performance will take place in the Opia Ballroom, separate from the Main Lounge.

While this event is free of charge, seating is limited. Anyone interested to see the performance should get a pass from the hostess upon arrival.

The rest of us will continue to enjoy drinks and conversation at the Main Lounge!

Chicago – Sep 06 2009

About Four Seasons:
Led by suave, European host-owners Alex von Bidder and Julian Niccolini Four Seasons Restaurant on East 52nd Street delivers superior service, first-class Continental cuisine to an urbane crowd that is considered “who’s who in the city”. The regulars tout lunching among “power players” in the Grill Room or dining in the Serene “pool Room” at night. Built on the philosophy that “less is more”, the Four Seasons is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the world. Designed by Mies Van der Rohe and Philip Johnson in 1959, the entire space is spectacular, but the window treatments are what really blew me away. Delicate chains repeatedly drape across each of the 30 foot tall window panes. They are lit from above and the a/c vents are at the base. The result is a gently shimmering, animated effect– a lovely kinetic compliment to the grand mahogany panels on the interior walls. And yes, it IS expensive – but guess what, you are worth it! Treat yourself!

Bar Room Savories range from:
Soft Shell Crabs ($8) to Sirloin Paillard, Herb Fries ($28)

Wines by the Glass:
Sancerre, Chateau de Sancerre $15
Chardonnay, Louis Latour $15
Pinot grigio, Trelano $15
Sauvignon Blanc, Julian of the Seasons, Napa 2006 $15
Pinot Noir, Cuvee A $15
Al Passo, Tolaini $15
Piper-Heidsick $15 etc

Beer $7

Mixed Drinks $15

Hello everyone:

Last month at the Palomar Hotel was another great turn-out, so thanks for your support. August is just around the corner, and our next eurocircle event will take place next Tuesday (August 4th) at the new restaurant and lounge ‘Joia’ in Midtown, located at 1100 Crescent Avenue (next to Front Page News). Convenient parking garage across the street and as usual start time will be 7:30 until…

Due to the large attendance these last few months, please RSVP so I can give a headcount to the staff at the restaurant.

Look forward to seeing you there!!!

How To Seduce Difficult Women is about bringing American men back to the roots of seduction, forged tirelessly throughout the centuries in France. Throughout the film, we witness how Philippe, a Frenchman, tries to teach a motley crew of clueless American men the wit and wisdom that it takes to charm difficult women. Despite his seduction course and how-to manual, we find out whether it is the master himself who needs the educating, or if he’s been able to keep his own game tight. The comedy also includes a taste of real-life NYC street interviews on romance, sex and seduction

A very longtime Spanish member of EuroCircle, Ms. Ana de Calvo de Luis is proud to invite fellow Europeans to our first Spanish Art Show at Coolture Spain.
We would be delighted to have the pleasure of your company.
6 pm to 10.30 pm on Oct 1!

Spanish wine and appetizers will be served.

More about Ana:
She is a lawyer and economist, she left investment banking after the towers fell and decided to do something more creative, fun and exciting. Ana then started designing her own line of shoes and bags and introduced them in Barneys, Nordstrom and a hundred other cute boutiques all over USA, Bahamas, Greece… You have seen them in www.lolasloloslolitos.com Then, She decided to help other Spanish designers to introduce them in this market, both on the sales side and their PR. They started to get more and more involved with other designers, first European, then American , and then Project runnway and Fashion Week, and the whole thing.
Ana now has a small Fashion Showroom, where they represent a few designers, and where they do lots of interesting and fun events.
She decided to experiment with the art world. Luis Burgos a fantastic figurative painter, well known in Spain, who has never presented his work in New York. He rarely goes to his openings, but for the first time we will be in NYC, so you all can be meet him as well!!

BUT I would like to also make sure you all meet Ana..
